Adgers Wharf Garden
Charleston, South Carolina

In the heart of the oldest section of downtown Charleston, former warehouse district, Adgers Wharf Garden is located in the back of a narrow courtyard. Inspired by the surrounding historic Charleston Gardens, It is divided in three outdoor rooms: the fountain courtyard, the pool area and the secret garden.

The fountain courtyard inspired by a Moorish garden is made of travertine tiles and stucco walls and at its center, a cooling fountain. The pool area, the main element of the overall garden, feels like a XVIII century European fountain. It stretches along one of the original walls of the courtyard and features spills, a wall fountain and planters. Lastly, the secret garden is located in a lower section of the garden hardly visible from the house.
