The Charleston Renaissance Hotel is situated between Society and Wentworth Streets in the historic heart of Charleston, South Carolina.
DesignWorks provided the streetscape improvements, arrival courtyard and two outdoor dining terraces for the hotel. The character of the historic neighborhood was integral in providing the details and scale for the walks, drive, walls, plantings, and site furnishings.
In keeping with the gardens of Charleston, a fountain wall and trellis became an integral focal point and key component of the arrival court. In addition to the aesthetic functions, the wall also served as a screen for the service area while the fountain buffers the noise of the streets. |
